Odd side-project from the past:
Qmas_qwrj was this minimalistic and experimental electronic music side-project created by me. Now, 21 years after it’s release, full album is available on YouTube for some reason.
So these strange songs started to born somewhere at the end of 1999 as an experiment to create different kind of music, using only very minimalistic electronic lo-fi samples.
6th track “Ulkokuori” contains sampled speech from Finnish sunday-night radio talkshow Yölinja. It’s a show where people made phonecall, described their problems and asked solutions to them. In December ’99, some unknown women called and told about how his boyfriend uses to beat her up when he’s drunk and how she can’t do anything about it. There’s no one able to help her. Song ends to the part where she must hang up the phone because her boyfriend comes home – to beat her up, or worse – her destiny have remains uncertain.
Painajaismaista EP-album was released by Finnish underground label called Act Of The Devil as small limited edition CDr’s in May 4th, 2001.
Front cover artwork was created by Tuomo E.
All track titles are in Finnish. Painajaismaista means nightmarish in English and refers to the creation process of the album, I guess.
So here there it is, as nightmarish as it is.
